September is one of the biggest months for companies to bring on new hires, and as hiring managers look for new additions to their team, I want to offer this advice:

Don’t just hire the first person to fill the spot because your team is busy; don’t settle; hire someone you’d want to be in business with.

TransPerfect coaches managers to be rigorous in the selection process, and don’t just hire a warm body to fill a position. Once you hire that person, if you eventually have to make a change, you’ll have already wasted a lot of time, energy, and training, that could have been better invested.

“Front end pain,” so to speak, and find the right candidate.
